Still here for Glasgow’s most excluded people.

The Marie Trust supports people affected by homelessness, poverty, trauma and social exclusion with crisis help, counselling, health and wellbeing support, education, digital skills and routes back into community.

While we were deeply disappointed by the recent loss of funding for our Crisis Intervention, Education, and Volunteering Project due to changes in HSCP Homelessness Services procurement, this represents not an ending, but a turning point.

With the full commitment of our Trustees, staff, and the support of Community Enterprise, we continue to do what we do best: innovative, trauma informed approaches to supporting people who are homeless or living in insecure tenancies.

What does The Marie Trust do?

The Marie Trust has been responding to the complex and often challenging needs of people affected by homelessness, poverty, and social exclusion since 2009. The charity aims to prevent and alleviate homelessness, offering a holistic, trauma-informed approach for individuals who often face challenging and traumatic experiences, recognising that people need more than a roof over their heads to feel safe and secure. We aim to support people to develop structure in their lives, aid recovery, and rehabilitation, and provide, opportunities for self-growth and healing to prevent homelessness from becoming a revolving door.

When people get to The Marie Trust, they feel they can breathe. Everywhere they go they are subject to huge scrutiny, but not there. It is somewhere that they can feel safe and valued, things a lot of people take for granted.
